How the Volvo Car Maintenance Program Works

Whether you purchase a gas-powered vehicle or one of Volvo’s intuitive electrified models, you’ll receive a comprehensive warranty as well. You’ll be covered for all scheduled maintenance for the first three years of ownership or the first 30,000 miles driven. The regularly scheduled service intervals are 10,000, 20,000, and 30,000 miles. To receive coverage, you must purchase your new Volvo vehicle from an authorized retailer.

If you purchase an electrified vehicle, you’ll instead receive coverage for four years or 40,000 miles. There are two covered service intervals at 20,000 miles and 40,000 miles. All of the same requirements for gas-powered vehicles are also applicable here.

It’s important to note that several service items are not covered by this complimentary maintenance plan. This includes any damage that results from normal wear and tear, or any vehicle that’s declared to be totaled by an insurer. If you miss any maintenance intervals at our Volvo service center, they will not be covered retrospectively.

Optional Upgrade Paths

If you want even more coverage, Volvo also offers a prepaid maintenance upgrade plan. Two available upgrade paths cover a variety of different services beyond just regularly scheduled maintenance. You’ll be able to cover up to 100,000 miles on these plans.

You can purchase extra coverage for nearly any model year. The available wear maintenance plan covers windshield wiper blades along with brake pads and rotors.

Volvo recommends that you bring your gas-powered vehicle in for service at least once a year regardless of mileage, or every two years for fully electric vehicles. For Model Year 2022 to 2025.5 vehicles with an internal combustion engine, Volvo Car USA LLC will cover the recommended services at 1 per year for the first 3 years from warranty start date limited to 1 every 10,000 miles up to the first 3 years or 30,000 miles, whichever occurs first. For Model Year 2022 to 2025 vehicles which are fully electric, Volvo Car USA LLC will cover the recommended services at 1 per two years for the first 4 years from warranty start date limited to 1 every 20,000 miles up to the first 4 years or 40,000 miles, whichever occurs first. For Model Year 2026 vehicles with an internal combustion engine, Volvo Car USA LLC will cover the recommended services at 1 per year for the first 2 years from warranty start date limited to 1 every 10,000 miles up to the first 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever occurs first. For Model Year 2026 vehicles which are fully electric, Volvo Car USA LLC will cover the recommended services at 1 service at 2 years or 20,000 miles, whichever occurs first. Standard connectivity is available in model year 2015.5 and newer vehicles. The Volvo Cars App is included for initial 1-year for Certified Pre-Owned vehicles and included for initial 4-years for new vehicles (model years 2018 and newer). The Volvo Cars app is available for your smartphone, iPad, and wearables such as Apple Watch and Android Wear with voice control.
