Recently, Polestar, Volvo Car Group's new performance brand, revealed the future of electric performance vehicles in the new Polestar 1. Polestar has plans confirmed for their first three models, the first of which appears to be the recently unveiled Polestar 1. Set to be rolled off the line midway through 2019, the Grand Tourer Coupe Polestar 1 is said to offer 600 horsepower and be packed with revolutionary technology, including a fully electric drivetrain that will separate it from every other vehicle on the road.

The Polestar 1 is based on Volvo's Scalable Platform Architecture, but is 50% completely new and created by Polestar engineers. It will offer a number of new technologies, including an all-new Ohlins Continuously Controlled Electronic Suspension, to increase performance. It will be made with a carbon fibre body to reduce weight and increase stiffness, all the while lowering the vehicle's center of gravity.

It is said that the Polestar 2 will begin production in 2019 and will be a midsize battery electric vehicle, while the Polestar 3 is rumored to be an SUV battery electric vehicle. Be sure to check in as more information starts to roll out about the upcoming Polestar 1 to find out if it's the right choice for you.
